Celia Doremus began her career as a journalist in London and Boston, covering regional and national stories for an
international wire service. She later moved into the marketing communications and public relations field, a step that
proved satisfying and provided an opportunity to work with companies to plan, design and implement programs that
increase their visibility and effectiveness in their markets. Ms. Doremus’ experience in the marketing communications
field in wide and deep and comes from a number of perspectives -- as in-house counsel, an agency senior account
executive and an independent contractor.
Ms. Doremus is a Principal of D&A Communications, an integrated Marketing Communications and Public Relations
firm that offers clients a full range of services. She specializes in the design and execution of strategic communications
programs for organizations across industry segments with particular focus on branding communications, market
research, targeted strategic communications plans, on and off line publicity campaigns, e-mail and web-based campaigns,
and website content/news/business/feature story development.
She was marketing communications manager for the international management consulting firm Arthur D. Little, in
Cambridge, Ma; a senior agency account executive at Trinity Communications, Inc., in Boston, MA; and an independent
marketing communications consultant to the renowned Tuft’s University’s schools of medicine, dental medicine
and nutrition science. She partnered with Grazier Design Works to plan, create and implement a comprehensive
communications branding strategy for a county-wide Economic Development Initiative to bring industry and jobs
into an impoverished agriculturally-based community. Together they executed strategic outreach projects that raised
visibility within and outside the community. Results included: industry relocation to the area, state grants, and successful
fundraising totaling more than $2 million.
When she is not working she enjoys hiking, snowshoeing and biking, is an avid reader and is active in a number of
animal protection organizations.
She is a member the New England Society for Healthcare Communications, the Public Relations Society of America and
the National Audubon Society.
